for everyone

Several months ago Nike collaborated with Takara Tomy and used the silhouette of the Nike Free 7.0 to create a pair of transforming sneakers which came out in two variants (Red/White Optimus Prime and Black/Silver Megatron).

While shopping around last Friday, I stumbled upon a bootleg version of the Nike Free 7.0 Transformer toy. Surprisingly, the resemblance to the original Nike Transforming Shoe is quite uncanny sans the Nike "Swoosh" logo and slight differences in the paint job. In robot mode, the head of this toy resembles more like Optimus Prime even though I chose the black and silver version which supposedly belongs to the Megatron variant.

Coincidentally, I also own a pair of Nike Free 7.0's and I so love the comfort I get in working out in these shoes. And now that I finally have a miniature version that transforms into a kick-ass robot....I just had to photograph them side-by-side and post it at multiply.=)

cool shot! selective lighting hides the cheap plastic and lack of details on the paintjob, hehe.

Ngek...I thought its because of the many dots on the side of the shoe which makes it look like speaker vents

Awesome indeed....what makes it more awesome is that I only spent 180 pesos for it. =)

Would like a real Nike Free 7.0 for that.

The original toy cost the same as the real shoe.
bleau72 wrote on Dec 11, '07
Woah! That's a pretty expensive toy. Besides, I have the Nike Free 7.0 already! I also found better looking bootlegs of Megatron & Optimus Prime. Will post the photos of them once I find time. =)

Make your own toy review it'll be fun.
ryderaquino wrote on Dec 12, '07
right! review it! give it LOW SCORES on transformation, but high one paint and stuff.

cool!! hahah..

@ Mark: It's always fun to post stuff here at Multi!

@ Ryder: Actually the paint used to make the bootlegs contain lead. So I really don't recommend this toy for kids who still put things in their mouth.
