VideoSpeed Painting in PhotoshopSep 1, '07 11:50 AM
for everyone
I was surfing YouTube when I came across these speed painting videos. I was so amazed with these artworks because they were all made using Adobe Photoshop. I've been using Photoshop for the past six years but I have never reached a fraction of the skill needed to execute this kind of artistry. The level of Photoshop mastery these guys have makes me green with envy. All speed painting videos posted were done by Nico Di Mattia except for the Black Spider-Man Painting which was done by Manlio Noto. Judging by the names, I bet these guys are Italian....I'd like to think of them as the Da Vinci and Michaelangelo of our generation. If you wanna see more speed painting videos click here

I agree with you Perry! Although I think it's more amazing to people who know a thing or two about Photoshop. I showed these videos to a couple of friends and they simply dismissed it as just another painting. They just don't realize that what makes these art pieces spectacular is the photo-realism of the rendering. Personally, I consider the accuracy of painting a digital brush stroke as a difficult feat due to the absence of the feeling of pressure in a real brush stroke. These guys are truly fantastic! =)

WOW! these guys are great. mukhang sa isang layer lang ginawa yung painting, which is a lot harder, pag nagkamali ka. mas bilib lalo ako kung mouse lang ginamit at hindi wacom tablet, hehehe

Most likely these guys used a tablet and pen. It kinda looks like everything was done in a single layer but I really doubt that. No matter what technique they used...it's still pretty awesome. =)

Your talents span a different realm Perry! You are gifted with an eye to see and capture things that a lot of us miss. You're empowered with the talent to freeze and encapsulate a beautiful moment in time.

For those of you who do not know Perry...let me introduce you to his world by clicking here

Found another speed painting video clip of Leonidas. This time there's some animation being added.
